VIA introduced the NetNote series

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

VIA has positioned its line of ultra-thin netbook NetNote as devices intermediate between traditional netbooks and laptops. Indeed, the 10-and 12-inch models are quite high by the standards of netbooks, but at the same time, small for a standard laptop. Thus their performance allows stress-free playback of HD video with resolution up to 1080p. Netbooks are based on processor VIA C7-M, Nano, as well as the VX855 Media System Processor and offered to the market as an OEM-device.

Regardless of the used CPU FSB-bus has a frequency of 800 MHz. Models can be equipped RAM to 2 GB hard drive 160 or 320 GB, and graphics card can use up to 512 MB of memory. There is also a built-in webcam, the module WiFi, a standard set of USB and HDMI connectors, and on the customer's request can be installed and a module supporting cellular network EV-DO or WCDMA standard.

There are currently no reports on the precise timing of output devices on the market and their cost, which will depend largely on the brand under which they will be produced.
