AT & T introduced the TerreStar Genus, satellite / cellular communicator

Operator AT & T and the company TerreStar have announced hybrid satellite-cellular device TerreStar Genus. This communicator is running the operating system Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional and supports both cellular networks GSM / GPRS / EDGE and UMTS / HSDPA, and satellite TerreStar. TerreStar Genus is a monoblock with a 2.6-inch touch screen and an integrated QWERTY-keyboard. Also among its features - 3 megapixel autofocus camera, GPS-receiver, Bluetooth 2.0 wireless adapters and Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g, and microSD-slot, while the volume of embedded memory is 100 MB. Size communicator - 118,8 x64, 8x19, 25/16, 25 mm.

In spite of the announcement, Issue TerreStar Genus will still not soon enough, not until the first quarter of next year. Moreover, the communicator will be available only to corporate subscribers of AT & T, as well as representatives of government agencies and small businesses. Such a solution for regular users, according to the operator, is currently under development.
