Fujitsu PRIMERGY Servers support Windows Server 2008 R2

Fujitsu Corporation today announced the compatibility of server platforms, the PRIMERGY family with a new operating system Windows Server 2008 R2. It recently announced a system of family Windows allows you to take advantage of all the functional benefits of PRIMERGY servers and other decisions of Fujitsu dynamic infrastructures.

In Windows Server 2008 R2 implement new features that improve reliability and flexibility of IT resources customers. Clients are able to create a highly efficient infrastructure that are fully compatible with such features for virtualization, as Live Migration (migration of virtual machines in real time) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (virtual desktop). With the new DirectAccess users can enter into a local network of your company from anywhere without special software or hardware needed to create virtual private networks. Function BranchCache optimizes the network load, caching in a data warehouse information, downloadable from outside the corporate users. All the above features are supported by products from the Fujitsu family of solutions for dynamic infrastructures.

In the operating system Windows Server 2008 R2 provides advanced power management features work with which to optimize power consumption of servers RIMERGY and reduce the corresponding operating costs. To manage the program developed a unified set of software PRIMERGY ServerView Suite, which includes a module for power management. The control software allows customers to reduce total cost of ownership of server park, reduce the cost of executing business operations and gain additional benefits through accelerated implementation of critical business services.

Systems PRIMERGY family can be supplied with the operating system entry-level Windows Server 2008 R2. Despite some limitations, it has new features that ensure a productive and efficient operation of servers. These solutions are designed primarily for small and medium-sized businesses are offered at very affordable prices. Shipments of PRIMERGY servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 with the company's plant in Augsburg began 01 October .
