ASUS Eee Keyboard - only next year, but with a capacitive touchscreen

Friday, November 6, 2009

We have already mentioned in the news about the unusual computer all-in-one "in the form of the keyboard - ASUS Eee Keyboard. It was assumed that the device goes on sale in October, but this has not happened and we now know about the delay issue. According to the Register Hardware Lead Designer ASUSTeK Computer Ken Wong (Ken Wang), the model will be released only at the beginning of next year. But it will have some changes in design, in particular a capacitive rather than resistive touch screen. Recall, the ASUS Eee Keyboard has a 5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels, it can be used to manage, and, gestures, multi-touch. The new version of the device panel replaced by a capacitance, although its size and resolution remain the same.

Among other improvements - External Adapter Wi-Fi, which provides a signal of better quality than built-in antenna. With built-in solutions Wi-Fi signal substantially "extinguish" metal computer case, as a result, a metal structure yet it was decided to maintain and easy to make adapter out. Although another version of ASUS Eee Keyboard in non-metallic shells with built-in Wi-Fi antenna is also planned. Presumably, the main characteristics of the device in the updated version will remain the same: CPU: Intel Atom N270, 1 GB RAM, 16 or 32 GB SSD and Intel GMA 950 graphics.
