Intel Reader - a portable audio-reader to help visually impaired

Intel introduced a portable device called Reader. This is indeed a "reader", which is designed to help people who can not read ordinary books for any reason, whether dyslexia or poor eyesight. Intel Reader can digitize paper pages of the book, and then "read" them aloud to the owner. The device is quite compact, it can carry. Intel Reader based on Intel Atom processor and is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera for shooting text.



Built in memory Intel Reader is 2 GB, it can store about 600 scanned pages. Moreover, if each of the photos - this is a two-page spread, in memory of "reading room" easily fits weighty volume of 1200 pages. Intel Reader supports audio formats MP3, WAV, text files and digital documents DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System). You can adjust the reading speed, and the battery device is enough for 4 hours before the next recharge. Sales of Intel Reader in the U.S. has already begun, the cost of new items is $ 1499.
