Well-known manufacturer of solutions for the memory of Micron Technology Inc. has expanded its family of solid state drives, announcing a new line of RealSSD C300. These devices are based on 34-nanometer NAND flash memory with multilevel cell (MLC), as well as equipped with the latest interface SATA 6.0 Gbps. With this statement the speed of reading and writing data to the drives RealSSD C300 reaches a level of 355 and 215 Mb / s, respectively.
RealSSD C300 drives will be available in 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch form factor, and their capacity will be 128 and 256 GB in various models. In addition, their NAND memory supports standard ONFI 2.1. Micron is currently supplying only experienced images of their new SSD in limited quantities, and mass production of these solid state drives should begin in the first quarter of 2010.
