Tablet PC OLPC XO-3 - a thin, waterproof and not expensive

Foundation One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) revealed details of the Tablet PC XO-3, intended for the education sector. Were presented images of the concept of the new model and some of its characteristics. OLPC XO-3 more closely resembles a piece of paper the usual landscape format 21,6 x28 mm: the device is very thin, with a touch surface and a small knob in the upper right corner. On the back side planshetnika will be located camera with video recording function.



We also know that the OLPC XO-3 will use the display Pixel Qi, which implements a clear image even in bright daylight and can be transferred to the power-saving mode. The device, moreover, be waterproof, and has a thickness of just over 6 mm. The Tablet PC will be built on the processor ARM.



However, its release is expected only in 2012, but it will cost only $ 75. Closer target OLPC - XO-1.5 with a more productive VIA processor and increase in operating and flash memory. It will be released in January 2010 and will cost about $ 200. But XO-1.75, scheduled for 2011, goes to the processor ARM, and its cost will not exceed $ 150.
