DiskStation DS1010 + from Synology - networked storage with a capacity of up to 20 terabytes

Taiwanese company introduced its new Synology NAS device DiskStation DS1010 +, designed for small and medium businesses. Novelty has five built-in compartments for storage with hot-swap function, offering up to 10 terabytes of total disk space. In addition, optionally available special extension block DX510, allowing to add five additional drive bays. Thus, the total capacity of the new network-attached storage can reach 20 TB.



This extension block DX510, which is due on sale in March, is connected to the NAS device DiskStation DS1010 + via eSATA cable with special connectors. At the same time, the speed of reading and writing data at the very networked storage reaches 115 and 109 Mb / s, respectively. Features include DiskStation DS1010 + processor with a frequency of 1.67 GHz and 1 GB memory DDR2. Moreover, the amount of RAM can be increased up to 2 or 3 GB.

In addition, NAS device DiskStation DS1010 + supports multiple simultaneous requests from different clients. According to the manufacturer, the device takes about 30 seconds to process 1,000 simultaneous requests. The system interfaces DiskStation DS1010 + includes two slots for Gigabit Ethernet and four USB ports, and the device is equipped with proprietary software DiskStation Manager 2.2 supports the integration of Windows ADS, FTP server with the function of encryption functions e-mail and web servers, as well as the means of data backup. Supply Network Storage DiskStation DS1010 + already begun, but the cost of the solution are not reported.
