AMD responds to a release Fermi powerful graphics Trillian

Friday, February 19, 2010

At the moment, AMD is king of the market of discrete graphics cards with its series of ATI Radeon HD 5000, replenished with new models. These graphics cards are based on 40 nm GPU and equipped with technology to support DirectX 11, ahead, therefore, by the opportunities competing solutions. Soon, however, the situation may change. The main rival AMD in the market of computer graphics company NVIDIA is going next month to submit a new generation of its video cards under the name Fermi. These accelerators have the same functionality as the products in the series ATI Radeon HD 5000, while their computational power is expected to be higher.

However, AMD, apparently, is not going to surrender to the mercy of NVIDIA, and prepare an adequate response to the decision in the family of Fermi. According to Fudzilla, that answer will be the appearance on the market a new graphics card codenamed Trillian, is a kind of improved version of the accelerator Radeon HD 5870 with enhanced performance.

It is reported that some publications, "loyal to AMD", had allegedly received at the hands of video images of Trillian. In this case there is no data nor about the characteristics of this adapter, nor even what name it will appear on the market (perhaps it will be a brand Radeon HD 5890). We also note that AMD is not the first time, develops powerful solutions to compete with products NVIDIA. Suffice it to recall the appearance of the adapter Radeon HD 4890 in response to the GeForce GTX
