Ericsson has set a new world speed record in a network HSPA - 84 Mbps

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

The rapid growth of data traffic in mobile networks, due to the use of smart phones, laptops and other devices, is continuing. Wireless Internet access and services related to the exchange of data has become an integral part of today's everyday life. At a demonstration of Ericsson in the Congress MWC (Mobile World Congress) will be presented in the action of the world's first network of HSPA, enabling transfer speeds of 84 Mbps. Last year at MWC Ericsson demonstrated the world's first HSPA network at speeds of 42 Mbps - at present this technology is already available for commercial exploitation, and these networks are deployed by many operators around the world. In addition, at CTIA 2009 in Las Vegas, Ericsson demonstrated the first operation of the network, provides high-speed exchange of data at 56 Mbps.

January 20 operator 3 Scandinavia has announced the selection of Ericsson as a partner in the deployment of 84-megabit network HSPA. The network will cover all of Denmark and four major cities in Sweden. The initial phase of network deployment will begin in the first quarter of 2010. Commercial use of the HSPA network with speeds of 84 Mbit / s scheduled for the first half of 2011. The demonstration will be held at the exposition company Ericsson, Hall 6, La Fira, Barcelona, in the Mobile World Congress, which will be held February 15-18. By invitation only. Representatives of the press need to contact public relations company Ericsson.

It should be noted that this rate is the peak value of the network speed in the downlink. The real speed of loading the user are less important and depends on the degree of network congestion, distance from the base station, the local conditions of radio wave propagation, hardware, software implementation, as well as other factors.
