The popularity of Windows 7 is more than 10 percent and twice higher than that of Mac OS X

At the end of March 2010 the share of computers running Windows 7 was more than double the number of machines running Mac OS X, although the latest version of Microsoft operating system was officially launched just five months ago. These are the results of the latest statistical report of the company Net Applications.


According to the same data, the share of Windows 7 operating system on the market now stands at not less than 10.23 per cent, which shows a very significant increase in the popularity of the software platform, as compared with the end of February, when its share stood at 8.92 percent. In addition, studies Net Applications show a slight increase in the popularity of the software on Mac OS X and various distributions of Linux. In the first case, the market share over the past two months has increased from 5.02 dl 5.33 per cent, while the second - from 0,98 to 1,03 per cent.

At the same time, the share of adherents Windows Vista continues to decrease and currently amounts to only 16.01 per cent. This means that more and more users migrate to Windows Vista from it to more modern operating system Windows 7. However, the vast majority of users (64.46 per cent) still prefer the old proven Windows XP, the number of fans that compared to February fell by only 0.03 percent.
