Friday, April 24, 2009

Samsung Electronics Company announced the election of course to the active use of AMOLED-display in their new mobile phones.

AMOLED (active matrix organic light-emitting diodes) - a new production technology displays. It allows you to make superthin screens with minimal energy consumption and increased service life, and thanks to the flexible substrate used in the production process, they are significantly better tolerated mechanical effects than traditional screens based on LCD technology, thereby increasing the overall reliability of devices based on them. These characteristics make AMOLED ideal solution for mobile phones.

Other significant advantages of solutions based on AMOLED compared to LCD technology used today in most mobile devices are fast response time, is not susceptible to the influence of the external environment (in particular, low temperature), high brightness and contrast as well as significantly better color coverage . In such displays the image will always remain readable even under direct solar rays, and almost under any angle. All these figures make AMOLED the most promising technology to date, to replace the LCD.

Company Samsung claims to be a leader in the development of AMOLED-display. On her account not only the concepts that Samsung has demonstrated to the world's largest exhibitions, but also the products are already widely available on the market. For example, today Samsung presents the Russian market a line of phones with display-based AMOLED. In particular, such a screen fitted with a new model Samsung S8300 UltraTouch, I8910 HD and the Beat DJ, as well as the previously presented model S9402 EGO.

Samsung sees huge potential in this technology and now focuses on the active development of AMOLED. According to the company's 2015 market share of mobile phones with AMOLED-screens will rise to 37.5%. Now it is only 2.9%, which implies a huge potential for further development of this technology. This is the opinion of Lee Jong-woo (Woo Jong Lee), vice president of marketing unit Samsung Mobile Display, which he made at a recent exhibition in Japan Finetech Japan 2009. According to Mr. Lee, mobile phones and communicators with AMOLED-touch screens will be mass market before the end of 2009, and in the future, such displays are used in the top models of notebooks. And then the engineers and scientists, and Samsung will provide great cover on the basis of new technologies that change the world market for displays and representations of the users of the image.
