Tuesday, August 11, 2009

According to a representative of Apple, Bill Evans (Bill Evans), the problem of the frequent stops the hard drive that will be faced by owners of laptops MacBook Pro, will be solved in software. This issue relates to the hard drive with 500 GB capacity and spindle speed 7200 rpm, installed in some models of MacBook Pro. In this system, equipped with a slower speed drives with 5400 rpm, is believed to be not susceptible to such trouble.

The sudden stop of the hard drive "freeze" the work laptop before normal operations. It is usually preceded by the characteristic boom and a few clicks, indicating overloading readers drive mechanisms.

Apple itself does not name the reasons for the emergence of this problem. However, a source at Other World Computing attributes the emergence of some of its features HDD Seagate Momentus 7200.4. The point is that this model uses a technology protection shake called G-Force. However, the MacBook Pro laptops, this function is duplicated by their own system, which potentially leads to a dramatic sets and downs speed drive. Moreover, such failures may lead to a reduction in the overall life of the hard drive.
