New 27-inch iMac only supports a Mini DisplayPort input

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Independent testing has confirmed the pre-existing fears that the new 27-inch iMac supports interaction only with devices equipped with the interface Mini DisplayPort. That is, owners of devices with ports VGA, DVI and HDMI, for example, game consoles or video players will not be able to use this computer as an additional piece of the monitor.

Interestingly, the new 27-inch iMac is not working even corporate adapter Mini DisplayPort to DVI, released most Apple, as well as other existing adapters. Of course, someday Apple or other manufacturers create new adapters are able to correctly transmit high-definition video on your computer. However, it is about these developments do not hear anything.

Recall, a new 27-inch iMac computer-piece was presented last week in the regular presentation of Apple. It is equipped with a widescreen display with IPS panel and LED-backlit display, whose resolution reaches 2560 x 1440 pixels, as well as the graphics card Radeon HD 4850 (although the latter applies only to top-end configuration).
