NVIDIA Responds : graphics Fermi - before 2010

Head of NVIDIA's Jen-Hsun Hung (Jen-Hsun Huang) told a conference on summing up the quarter that the production of next-generation graphics processors, known as Fermi, will not begin until the first quarter of 2011 fiscal year. It begins for NVIDIA on January 26 and ends April 26, 2010 calendar year. Thus, the expected release of NVIDIA Fermi this year is not worth it. Graphics chips Fermi serve as the basis for the three different lines of video cards - GeForce, Quadro, and Tesla, the head NVIDIA.



As we already know that the new video processor NVIDIA Fermi constructed according to the norms of 40 nm process and supports DirectX 11. In addition, the new GPU will sharply increase the number of processor cores - from 240 to 512. According to preliminary data on the chips NVIDIA Fermi accelerators will be constructed of the GeForce 300.
