Windows Mobile 6.5 "Second Edition" - is more suited to capacitive displays

Friday, November 27, 2009

Resource mopocket published a number of interesting details about the updated version of the operating system Windows Mobile 6.5 with reference to a representative at Microsoft. The new version is referred to as Windows Mobile 6.5 Second Edition or Windows Mobile 6.5.1, although it is rather an informal name. Update, according to a company representative, has received several revised interface, which enables better use of the capacitive touch screens. This is true today, especially as the Windows Mobile interface was never designed for capacitive screens, but only on the resistive. It should be noted that the basis of Windows Mobile interface goes back to the version of Pocket PC 2000.

A company representative, Microsoft also announced that a new variant of Windows Mobile 6.5 will be available, quite possibly, not as a firmware update, but as an alternative version for ODM manufacturers who can use it for their products with capacitive touch screens. Thus, it is worth remembering that the official statements regarding the company Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Second Edition and 6.5.1 did not. And despite the fact that this information came from its representative at an event, it is not clear whether it is accurate.
