Yota and Samsung will accelerate the spread of Mobile WiMAX networks throughout Russia

Yota Company announced the conclusion of the next contract with Samsung Electronics to support plans for the development of Mobile WiMAX networks in Russia. Under the new contract, Samsung must deliver for the company Yota with March 2010 more than 5 000 macro base stations in delivering Mobile WiMAX routers and access control (ACR). Yota plans to expand its network in Russia through the connection to the Mobile WiMAX this year, 15 new cities, including Sochi, which will host the Winter Games in 2014.

It is worth noting that since the conclusion of an exclusive cooperation agreement in 2008, Samsung has shipped provider Yota more than 4 500 units of Mobile WiMAX Macro and Pico base stations. The company currently provides services Yota Mobile WiMAX more than 300 000 subscribers in three cities in Russia, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Ufa.
