Production of Polaroid cameras and film for them to be restored

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Good news for those who still remained committed to the Camera Polaroid. By mid 2010, less than two years after the second and, as it turned out, the final collapse of the company's production of the same Polaroid cameras and film for them to be restored. Instant cameras will be made in Chinese factories of the company Summit Global, which acquired a license for their production and the right to use the trademark after the ruin of the company Polaroid. But the film will release on the former company's plant in the city of Enschede (Netherlands). Its production was made possible thanks to the company The Impossible Project, which was established by former managers of the plant. Virtually the same enthusiasm they have managed to restore the production of an inexpensive film for still cameras.

The official announcement of release Polaroid camera company Summit Global held this week in Hong Kong. Reportedly, not only to resume production of the popular model Polaroid One, but will be made and the digital version.
Became famous for its instant cameras Polaroid began as a manufacturer of polarized sunglasses and masks for the U.S. Army during the Second World War. The very famous Chamber was established by engineer Edwin Land (Edwin Land) in 1947, and became the best-selling model SX 70, was released in 1972. By 2000, Polaroid had sold more than 13 million of its cameras. However, the development of digital photography and internal problems led us to the fact that Polaroid has twice been recognized by the bankrupt (in 2001 and 2008). After the second bankruptcy was discontinued the production of cameras, and a little later and the film for them.
