OCZ introduced a line PCI-E SSD drive Z-Drive

OCZ Technology is one of the main suppliers of solid-state drives, which are offered it in different series, different capacity and cost. But while nearly all of them use a standard connector SATA. Presented as a series of Z-Drive is designed in such a way as to avoid a "bottleneck" of the connector does not allow to fully realize the possibility of "fast" solid-state drives.


In a series of solid-state drives Z-Drive family R2 used connector compatible with a slot PCI Express. The family includes three drive bays, each of which is built on technology MLC NAND flash. They can be used to boot, have eight lanes PCI-E and have eight ways RAID 0. Data capacity ranges from 256 GB to 2 TB, and they use a custom software company OCZ, which can be adapted to their specific needs. The family includes models of Z-Drive R2 p88, p84, and m84, while p88 has eight controller SATA, while the other two have four of these controllers.

The cost of PCI-E SSD drive Z-Drive family of R2 is not reported.
